Expertise & advice

The wide range of equipment and services available within our Facility is underpinned by the expert knowledge and experience of our staff. We help identify the most appropriate methods to apply to a given biological question and will train users to learn how to operate imaging systems independently. Where resources and/or time are limited, or for highly technical methods such as FIB SEM, we can offer a full imaging service. We can also offer help and advice with image processing and analysis, and have a significant amount of experience developing tailored analysis pipelines for high content imaging assays.

We offer training and supported access for a wide range of imaging technologies including confocal microscopy, high content imaging, super resolution microscopy and laser micro-dissection. We also offer an electron microscopy service, encompassing various TEM/SEM methods and serial block-face imaging (3D EM). To complement our imaging capabilities we support our users with various image processing and analysis tools and can develop image analysis pipelines to facilitate rapid quantification of large image datasets. We aim to provide a cutting-edge microscopy service appropriate for any user, regardless of their knowledge and experience.
