Anneliese has a BSc in Physics from Durham University (UK) and a PhD in Biophotonics from King's College London (UK) focusing on the automation of oral cancer diagnosis. Her academic interests ​span the construction of advanced microscopes, to the design of robust imaging experiments and the analysis of image data.
Since January 2025 Anneliese has been the image analyst for the Babraham Imaging facility, teaching microscope users how to approach quantitative image analysis and writing bespoke pipelines for more advanced lines of enquiry. Her "special interests" in this arena include the use of open-source software like ImageJ/Fiji, and analysis of fluorescence lifetime imaging data.
