One of the primary functions of the Facility is to provide high quality training for our users. The general model is to provide sufficient training such that an individual has a reasonable understanding of the equipment they are using and can operate it both independently and to a good standard. This ensures that researchers retain the connection between their experiment and their data, and provides transferable skills which will help develop their career.
Training is typically done on a one-to-one basis, where we have discussed a project and identified an imaging or image analysis solution which best addresses the needs of the project. Where appropriate we also conduct training with small groups, although we try and limit group sizes to three people. Recently we have started running an Introduction to ImageJ course which lasts one day and has proven to be very popular.. We are in the process of putting together additional training courses so please contact the Facility if this is something that could be of interest to you.
