Rachael obtained her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Bath. During her degree Rachael completed an industry placement at GlaxoSmithKline based in the Screening and Compound Profiling department and a research placement in the lab of Dr. Julien Licchesi, studying the role of E3 deubiquitinating enzymes in Alzheimer’s disease. After graduation she worked as a Research Scientist within the Immuno-Oncology therapeutic area at Kymab Ltd, a biotechnology company specialising in antibody therapeutics.

As a PhD student in the Ribeiro de Almeida lab, Rachael is funded by a BBSRC DTP PhD studentship and studies the role of RNA helicases in germinal centre responses.
