Priya

Priya graduated from the University of Miami with a BSc (Hons.) in Marine Science, Biology and Neuroscience (Privileged Studies and Pre-Clinical Programs), during which she also worked in the laboratories of Professor Stephen Roper and Dr Zhongmin Lu. She obtained her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Cambridge where, in the laboratory of Dr Nicholas Ktistakis, she studied the critical requirements of the Class III PI3K (Vps34) and (lysosomal) calcium for omegasome biogenesis in the initiation of autophagy. Priya joined Klaus Okkenhaug's group in 2012 and she is often imaging T cells in her current work which focuses, among others, on Class III PI3K signalling in T cell biology including its involvement in relation to autophagy, endocytosis and immunological memory to pathogens such as Listeria.
