Bring Your Own Device Terms of Use

By enrolling a device, you agree to the Babraham Institute IT Security & Usage policy, the BYOD policy, and the terms below.

I acknowledge that by enrolling my device, Babraham Institute IT administrators will have additional visibility of my device settings within the Institutes Microsoft Intune and Addigy device management services.

The data that will never be collected from your device is:

  • Your location.
  • Your web browser history.
  • Your password.
  • Your calls, emails, text messages or calendar.
  • Your pictures and files.

The data that will be collected from your device and updated whenever you access BI services is:

  • Your name and Babraham Institute IT account username.
  • Your device serial number, manufacturer, model, operating system, and IMEI.
  • Details of the managed apps that you use to access Institute services (application name and version).
  • The last four digits of your phone number.

This data is collected for the following purposes:

  • To ensure that all devices accessing Babraham Institute services or data is configured securely, up to date and supported
  • To enforce security policies that are designed to protect Institute data and prevent unauthorised access.

Data protection:

Babraham Institute is committed to protecting the privacy of its employees and the confidentiality of its data. Personal data collected through this application will be stored securely and will only be accessed by authorised IT administrators for legitimate business purposes.

Data retention:

Personal data collected through this application will be retained for as long as your personal device is enrolled in the Microsoft Intune service. You can uninstall this application from your personal device at any time to unenroll and remove your personal data from the service. IT administrators will periodically unenroll devices from the service that have been inactive for 6 months or more.

Your rights:

You have the right to request access to your personal data held in relation to the use of Microsoft Intune. You can delete your personal data or restrict processing at any time by removing the app from your personal device.
