Michelle Linterman features in the Medicine Maker, a publication specialising in news for drug development scientists, for her work on repurposing imiquimod to counteract the age-related decline in immune system performance. Speaking about her work using mice as a preclinical model of ageing, Michelle said: “Imiquimod is a known stimulator of Type I interferon, and its cream formulation allowed it to be applied directly over the vaccination site. In mice, we were able to boost the number of stimulatory cells, and restore the formation of T follicular helper cells and dendritic cells.”
