Experienced Support Service Technician

Biological Support Unit

We are interested in meeting Experienced Support Services Technicians who wish to work in a state of art rodent facility using some of the latest and most advanced technology.

The Support Service Technician working in the Small Animal Facility as part of a team of five staff responsible for the operation of the Central Services within the Biological Support Unit (BSU).

The Central Service area provides services for four animal units within the BSU, each with its own unique health status. The post involves processing of soiled animal cages via the use of robotic automated machinery, maintenance of automated machinery, some manual cage-processing, moving goods across four biological barriers, cleaning duties, ensuring QA processes are carried out, and other tasks relating to services within the facility.
The post holder will hold an intimate knowledge of the equipment used in the service area, including manual functions and alarms in order to create temporary work-rounds to issues, enabling smooth service provision.

Salary is up to £24,929 per annum plus a £4,000 allowance depending on experience.
