The Contracts Officer is a new and exciting post which has been created to deliver an end to end service to support the Institute’s contract portfolio.  This is a varied and stimulating role which offers the post holder the opportunity to work across all research areas at the Babraham Institute, liaising with scientists and key stakeholders to help advance innovative science and technology projects.
 
The Contracts Officer will role play a vital part in the negotiation and development of Babraham Institute’s contracts including; research agreements, collaborations, consortium agreements, confidentiality agreements, licence agreements, material transfer agreements as well as its consultancies, technical and scientific services and others that may arise.
 
Reporting to and working closely with the Commercialisation Manager, this exciting role will seek advice and input where necessary.  The Post Holder will join an expanding Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation (KEC) team, which includes the Commercialisation Manager, Knowledge Exchange Manager and KEC officer.  The role will also involve working with Institute scientists, research partners and grant managers.
 
Applicants will have a higher degree in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent experience, and will also have significant experience of contract negotiation.  Suitable candidates will have strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and experience of working in a customer-focussed environment.
This is a part time role, with the successful candidate expected to work between 22.5 and 30 hours per week – hours to be agreed prior to offer.
