Michael Hinton

Michael had 20 years' experience in the Institute's Neurobiology Laboratory, working on behaviour and memory using HPLC and electrophysiology. He represented the Institute and the BBSRC at several national exhibitions which led to a secondment in 2004, covering press, public relations, web development and schools outreach. After a short return to the bench Michael moved into the Graphics Facility, maintaining his outreach activities, improving the Institute's AV capabilities and developing internal and external web sites for the Institute.

He is now a member of the Public Engagement Team, coordinating outreach activities for primary, secondary and sixth-form students, including Schools' Day, the CAST Protein Challenge Project, Ethics Workshops and the award-winning collaboration with Sophianum School in the Netherlands.
