Laboratory Support Technician (Media Preparation)

We are seeking to appoint a Laboratory Support Technician to form part of the Media Preparation Team at the Babraham Institute.
 
Duties will include organizing with colleagues both the day-to-day operation of the central glassware preparation facility and the weekly laundry collection plus daily replenishment of hygiene consumables. 
 
Additionally preparing, dispensing and sterilising a range of laboratory solutions and bacterial growth media and providing laboratory and glass washing support and cleaning of tissue culture rooms. Also, the ability to accurately dispense powdered chemicals, involving adding up and following recipes to sometimes adapt quantities.
 
Working hours are from Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 5.00pm, including an unpaid 30-minute lunch break, and on Fridays from 8.00am to 1.00pm with no lunch break.
 
Starting salary is £19,324 per annum to £21,472 per annum depending on experience.
