Mentoring and Career Development

All postdocs at Babraham Institute have access to a Postdoc Career Consultation Panel of experienced Institute staff to provide confidential career advice and also have full access to postdoc careers specialists in the University of Cambridge Careers Service.

In addition the Institute provides dedicated Postdoc Intranet webpages with news, career information links, training and development courses, and details of our internally funded International Conference Travel Fund specifically for postdocs. A committee of representative postdocs plus senior staff members discusses issues raised by the postdoc community and manages the Travel Fund awards and has input in defining the Institute's training, mentoring and career development provision for postdocs.

A substantial menu of over 30 training and personal development courses is offered for postdocs and individual, specific needs are also taken into account. In addition, an Advanced Research Training Scheme is run by the Institute’s Senior Research Associates who each offer at-the-bench training in one or more of their technical specialities.
