The Babraham Institute Charity Day raises £2250 for local charities

13th October 2003

The Babraham Institute donated a total of £2250 to two local charities: the Children's Hospice, Milton, and the Rosie Maternity Ward, Addenbrookes Hospital. The money was raised at the Institute's recent 'Charity Day'. £1125 was donated to each of the charities. Teresa Ford, Corporate Fundraiser from EACH (East Anglia's Children's Hospices), said the money would be added to Milton Hospice's general funds, to cover essential everyday expenses such as nurses' wages, running costs and physiotherapy services.

Mary Cooper from Friends of the Rosie (pictured right, with Sally Munday, Chairwoman, Friends of the Rosie and Michael Hinton) said the money donated will be used for everything from cot cards and curtains on the wards, to a CTG machine (for monitoring a baby's heartbeat during labour) and mobile phones for the Community Midwives.
