Signalling via guanine-nucleotide exchange factors for the small G protein Rac

Rac, a small G protein of the Rho family, is an intracellular molecular switch that controls a wide range of cell responses, including cell morphology, migration, survival, gene expression and reactive oxygen species formation. Rac is switched on by guanine-nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs), in response to extra- or intracellular signals. We study the functional roles and mechanisms of regulation of Rac-GEFs, particularly of P-Rex family Rac-GEFs, which we discovered a few years ago (More...)
