The Institute provides its scientists with an extensive infrastructure of central support services and with privileged access to a number of scientific service companies. In addition, the
Technology Development Laboratory, managed by our commercial arm,
BBT Ltd.
can provide services and expertise across many scientific fields including molecular biology, protein biochemistry, cell biology, medicinal and synthetic chemistry
In conjunction with BBSRC, the current five-year programme of development of the central campus will also see all research groups housed in an interconnected set of modern laboratory buildings with an adjacent building housing all the scientific service facilities.
The Institute has opened a
state-of-the-art Barrier Unit, custom-built to support future scientific developments in rodent genetics-based research.
A number of proprietary
Antibodies for research, generated by Institute scientists, are also available on a commercial basis through BBT.
The Institute invests some 15% of total annual income in providing cutting-edge core facilities, services and equipment for its scientists; individual scientific and corporate services are outlined in these pages.
