Corporate Services

• Library • Graphics & IT Support • Communications Training & Media Liaison

The Institute offers a range of corporate services, aimed at facilitating the work of its own staff, visitors and companies on site.

Having appointed an Operations and Conferencing Manager and following developments in our Catering section, the Babraham Institute is now able to offer a comprehensive and attractive conferencing service for the Institute, BBT, Campus tenants and partner organisations.

The Corporate Affairs Office provides an excellent range of conference facilities, seminar and meeting rooms seating between 10 and 200 people. These are available during normal office hours and refreshments, working lunches or formal dining can be arranged through the Institute’s catering team. The catering and conferencing facilities offer an exceptional service, at a competitive cost, for all staff and for corporate events. All meeting room facilities have been refurbished in the last four years and its impressive range of facilities include state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and videoconferencing provision. Please note that we do not offer other services for private functions, nor is Babraham licensed for weddings.

We recognise that security is of critical importance and our 24/7 security control provision, with CCTV coverage, enables our security team to respond rapidly to any emergency on the campus. Those working on site have automated monitored entry with access to the campus outside normal working hours.

Other services provided by the Institute include our library, which has moved to become electronic-based, and the IT services provided by the computing and graphics offices. The Institute also provides a training service for scientists to engage more effectively with the media and also to gain experience in science communication, particularly through our active Schools Programme.
