Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS)

FACS facility equipment

The Babraham fluorescence-activated cell sorting facility offers cell sorting on a Becton Dickinson FACSAria , with a three laser optical system enabling up to nine colour analysis and sorting of specific cell populations, for example B-lymphocytes.

The Facility also has a Beckton Dickinson Influx, for high speed cell sorting and cloning. The influx has blue, red, green and violet lasers and can detect up to thirteen colours.

Flow cytometry analysis of cell suspensions can be performed on a B.D. LSRII (four lasers, ten colours) or a
B.D. FACSCalibur (two lasers, four colours) bench top analyser.
