How to find us
Disclaimer
The Babraham Institute welcomes enquiries from the media and the public. We actively seek to inform and engage the media, general public and specialist audiences with the latest scientific developments from our institute and the implications these discoveries have for human health. To facilitate a constructive and effective working relationship with the media, since 2001 we have ensured that all senior scientists participate in 'media training'. Several of the Institute's Group Leaders are on the Science Media Centre's list of 'technical experts', available to provide comment or opinion on issues of public interest.
We also encourage our younger research scientists and PhD students to undergo science communication and media training, to bring awareness of the constraints under which the media operate and to develop communication approaches that are tailored to engaging the non-technical audience.
As an independent life sciences research organisation we can provide you with information and advice on a wide range of scientific topics from our expert scientists. We also organise events that are designed to bring the scientific community closer to new public audiences and provide new opportunities for dialogue and exchange of ideas between the various constituents of society.
The Babraham Institute issues press releases to inform the media and relevant public audiences of new scientific advances, awards to scientists, issues relating to the development of the Babraham Research Campus other matters of potential interest to our stakeholders. This office also issues press releases on behalf of Babraham Bioscience Technologies Ltd (BBT), relating to the commercial dimensions of the research campus, the BioIncubator facility and announcements relating to companies on site.
All media enquiries should be made to the External Relations Office:
