About the Babraham Research Campus

Babraham Institute aerial view

The Babraham Research Campus is one of the leading centres for bioscience innovation in the UK providing around 70,000 sq ft lab space in its Bioincubator Buildings, at the heart of the Cambridge biomedical cluster.

The campus continues to expand, underscoring both BBSRC’s and Babraham’s commitment to supporting innovation and reflecting the need for an environment that encourages and nurtures biomedical companies and thus assisting in the process of wealth creation for UK-plc.

Today there are around 750 people at the Babraham Research Campus. Approximately 400 people work at the Institute; 28 Group Leaders, 70 Cambridge University PhD students, 75 postdoctoral researchers, support staff, administration staff and visitors, coming from all over the world.

About 350 people are employed by companies on site. This international and professional diversity has generated a vibrant, stimulating and rewarding research environment.
