The Babraham Institute is an independent charitable life sciences organisation, which receives strategic funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. The Institute's research focuses on understanding the biological events underlying the normal functions of cells and on how their failure or abnormality may lead to disease and medical conditions. The Institute employs over 300 staff in a variety of careers - science, technology support, administration and more vocational jobs - and over 500 people are employed across the campus, many from overseas providing a diverse cultural atmosphere. In additional, over 70 students attend our graduate programme. The Institute ensures that all individuals have access to training and professional opportunities to support them in post and their ongoing careers.
